Where bands like múm, Björk and Sigur Rós usually calls visions of glaciers, rugged landscapes and long winter nights, makes listening to the music of this quintet from Gainsville, Florida, more like sunshine and lazy summer days near the water. The warm folktronica of Hundred Waters is characterized by the same experimentation and fairytale atmosphere like the artists named before. Central to this is the distinctive voice of Nicole Miglis, providing guidance and structure to the electronic, acoustic and vocal sounds that the rest of the band produces. Hundred Waters sounds so artistic, experimental and abstract, but also accessible and human.
